Top Engagement Photo Locations in Chattanooga
If you're recently engaged and thinking about where to take your engagement photos, you're in the right place. Chattanooga is filled with scenic backdrops — from mountaintop views to peaceful wooded trails — and I’ve had the chance to explore them all with couples just like you.
Here are my favorite spots for engagement sessions in and around Chattanooga, and what makes each one unique.
1. Sunset Rock
If you're dreaming of those golden-hour, dramatic-overlook shots, Sunset Rock is unbeatable. Located on Lookout Mountain, it's perfect for adventurous couples who love a little hike with a huge payoff. Expect epic views, soft light, and plenty of natural texture from the cliffs and foliage.
📍 Pro tip: Best in fall or spring. Shoot right before sunset for warm, glowing light.
2. Chickamauga Battlefield
Wide open fields, rustic fences, winding paths, and tall golden grass — Chickamauga Battlefield gives off peaceful countryside vibes without driving too far from town. I recently shot an engagement session here with Alexa & Austin (he plays for the Chattanooga Lookouts!), and it was a total dream.
📍 Great if you want a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and lots of room to move around.
3. Downtown Chattanooga
For couples wanting a more modern or editorial feel, downtown has a ton to offer — from alleyways with urban grit to clean architectural lines and cozy coffee shop corners. Spots like the Bluff View Art District and West Village give a balance of city charm and romance.
📍 Best if you’re drawn to city vibes or want to shoot somewhere meaningful from your relationship.
4. Coolidge Park & Walnut Street Bridge
The Walnut Street Bridge is one of Chattanooga’s most iconic spots — perfect for couples who want views of the Tennessee River and a skyline backdrop. Pair it with Coolidge Park just below, and you get green space, sculptures, and carousel charm all in one shoot.
📍 Ideal for couples who want variety without having to drive between locations.
5. Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center
A hidden gem. Reflection Riding offers dreamy forest trails, tall trees, flowering fields, and even a bamboo grove. If you’re into nature or planning a fall wedding, this place has cozy, romantic vibes written all over it.
📍 Requires a photography permit — but totally worth it for the natural beauty.
6. Greenway Farms
Tucked away in Hixson, Greenway Farms is a quieter, woodsy spot with walking trails, open fields, and water views. It’s simple, peaceful, and great for low-key sessions with just the two of you.
📍 Perfect if you’re camera shy or want something laid-back and earthy.
7. Point Park
Up on Lookout Mountain, Point Park offers sweeping views, stone structures, and beautiful tree-lined paths. There’s a small fee to get in, but it’s never too crowded and always worth it. You’ll get some of the best overlook views in the city without hiking too far.
📍 Works well in any season — especially golden hour.
